Two-step verification (otherwise known as two-factor authentication or 2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your account. Our team at Loop uses two-step verification by default for all of our accounts.
What is two-step verification?
Two-step verification allows you to prevent someone from accessing your account if they have your username and password. Two-step verification is often a unique code sent via SMS, email, or through an app. We'll ask you to provide this code after you've entered your username and password.
To provide more robust security, we allow Loop users to opt-in to use 2FA verification when they log in to our application. After the user submits their basic credentials (username and password), the user will be prompted to enter a code that they can get from their connected authenticator app.
How to update your two-step verification method?
You can change to another two-step verification method at any time. For example, if you'd like to receive your verification codes through an app rather than via SMS.
- Navigate to Settings > Personal.
- Click on the Update Two-step Verification button and select 2FA App.
- Install an Authenticator app such as Authy (iOS or Android) or Google Authenticator on your phone.
- In the authenticator app, select the option to “add” by scanning a QR code.
- Scan the QR code screen
- Your app will provide a code for Loop - enter the code from your Authenticator app and click “Submit”.
You’re now all set. The next time you have to log in to our application, you will be prompted to enter the code that you can get from your Authenticator App.
